Superdrug Haul 27/04/2014

Hey lovelies,

Last week I saw Rimmel had their 180th anniversary and were doing a 3 hour deal on Superdrug.

I thought I'd check out what was happening online with 15 minutes to spare (I was revising all day 😊).

I saw the Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves Mascara had been reduced from £6.99 to £1.80 from 12.00-3.00 and new I had to pick some more up! I already own this mascara and I'm in love with it (I've already mentioned it in a previous post on my essential makeup) and this was such an amazing discount!

I ordered the normal black one and an extreme black one. The brush is curved to give you more volume and my lashes look so long with it on! I'd give this a 9/10 for sure.

I also thought if check out my favourite nail varnish brand, Barry M. I've never loved a nail varnish brand so much!

I bought two more of Barry M's Aquarium collection in Treasure Chest and Caspian (I already have Mermaid, see my Collective Haul post) and then a Gelly Hi Shine in Blueberry. These are so perfect for summer and I can't even describe how beautiful they are! No doubt I'll love them just as much if not more than the other nail varnishes I already own my Barry M....

And just in case any of you were wondering, here is my nail varnish box! There's three rows of Barry M (I have more in Liverpool) then we have some OPI, Topshop and other nail varnishes then some nail wraps that I've not yet used.

Just to top it all off I spent over £10 in Superdrug so I got free delivery. I can't describe how much Superdrug makes my life easier and their deals are so frequent I can always find ways to save money. I'm not being paid to write lovely things about them, but I saved £14.00 on this order. I know the Rimmel 180th birthday saved me the most but Barry M had a 3 for 2 deal as well.

I'm also hoping to apply to work in Superdrug once my exams are finished so if anyone works there or has any tips for my I would love it if you commented helping me out!

I hope you enjoyed this little post!

Hey lovelies,

Hope you've all had an amazing Easter! I've been so busy revising and now I'm packing my things up again to visit my boyfriend before we venture off to Newcastle to Uni again!

Apologies for lack of posts, I want to try so hard for my exams but also keep creating blog posts but I think I'm keeping a balance!

Within the next few weeks I will be doing some reviews of some products I've bought, and will be sharing my student tops to afford new products and clothes etc! I know it's tricky when you don't have a job and have to rely on your loan and things!

Collective Fashion & Beauty Haul - Spring 2014

Happy Easter lovelies!

A some of you may know I've just been to York and I picked up the odd bit, then I came back to my hometown (Liverpool) for a week or so. I've been shopping a few times but thought I'd show you all in a collective haul instead of loads of random posts!

Also I apologise for lack of posts, I have my second year exams coming up in 2 weeks and I am stressing/revising/procrastinating!

Fashion Haul

Gingham Skort from New Look £17.99
This is amazing, and I love it, but I am not loving how short they are. I know they are shorts really, but being a more skirt person it did alarm me how much my pins were on show! For now I'm wearing these with some black tights and my gold sandals which I think is more appealing to the public eye...

Gingham/Check Skater Dress from New Look - reduced to £10
I went for a browse in York's New Look and discovered this on sale! I thought it would be perfect for when I'm having one of 'those days' where I don't know what to wear so I can throw it on and pair it with almost any colour shoes and accessories.

Powder Blue Midi Skirt from Primark £10
I can't wait to pair this with little flat shoes and a white cami!

I also did a little bit of shopping in Primark... I bought the white heart cushion for £3, the powder blue skirt (as above), a navy bag (see below) and a set of floral towels which come in different sizes ranging from £1.50 for flannels (I think) up to £8ish for a normal sized towel.

Navy Blue Handbag from Primark £12
I've seen other bloggers talk about this as a Zara dupe, but I'm not a huge Zara shopper so I wouldn't know! I love the way this has two zip pockets as well as a middle compartment, and also a strap so you can wear it over your shoulder.

Sunglasses from New Look £4.99
These were the last pair in York! I saw them and fell in love with them. They're slightly bigger than I anticipated but nonetheless look better on me than any other type of glasses in my opinion. I have a sort of heart shape/circle head so these definitely look better than square lenses that make it super obvious I have a weird shaped head!

Gingham Bikini from Kelly Brook at New Look
Top £16.99 (here)
Bottoms £10.99 (here)
As a person who has trouble buying bikinis and bras I mostly opt for Kelly Brooks Range. I bought a 36DD (by accident I'm supposed to be a 34E) and a size 10 in bottoms. Although the back size is the tiniest bit big on me, the cups fit fine and I'm not scared of them popping out!

I've not owned a red lingerie set before so when this was on sale in New Look for £9 bra and £3 thong I snapped it up!

5 Pairs of Tights from F&F at Tesco £3.50 (bought in store)
As it is still Spring and not Summer, contrary to popular belief from seeing people in beachwear this week, I am still wearing tights with skirts/dresses so I'm not as cold. I have laddered all of my tights lately so it is vital that I bought some 'run resist' tights and I heard Tesco was good for tights!

Beauty Haul

If any of you read my Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation you'll know that I didn't have a good time with it. Rimmel kindly enough sent me the Match Perfect Foundation* to try to see if this was better than the Wake Me Up Foundation. I will be doing a mini review on this soon!

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream £9.99 from Superdrug
I bought this after seeing a lot of great reviews about it and will be doing a review soon! So far so good though!
L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution and Superdrug Cotton Wool Pads
I bought these to help fight my facewipe addiction and to try to cleanse my face properly. Mini review coming up soon on this (I should probably just do one big review...)
Barry M Aquarium Collection in Mermaid
When I saw this advertised I just imagined myself as a nail polish and this was the result. Blue and sparkly - amazing. I've also ordered two more from the Aquarium Collection to be delivered soon!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette £37
I had been lusting after this for soooo long and when I saw on Cohorted it was down to £18.50 for one night I snapped it up instantly. So far I've used it once but my favourites are Trick and Nooner.

Revlon Colourburst Balms
I bought these from Superdrug but can't for the life of me remember how much they were, but aside this flaw I will be doing a mini review soon. I am loving the deep plum colour more at the moment but they are perfect for popping in your handbag!

I hope you've enjoyed reading that long haul! This has been my first collective haul but not my last... I do plan on buying many many more things in the future, I promise.

I'm assuming people will be reading this while chomping on your Easter eggs (I'm jealous, I've had none today, yes you read that right!) so I will envy you but at the same time be glad you have read up until this point without getting incredibly bored, and I thank you for that.

York: Anniversary Trip Away!

Hey lovelies, it's been a while! Apologies for late posting but I went away with my boyfriend for our 1 year Anniversary in York!

Just want to put it out there that he is absolutely amazing (be jel) and I was so lucky to be able to go on this trip with him. We did so many things but I never took pictures of everything as I wanted to spend some quality time with him.

Anyway, here are some snaps of things we did:

Andy relaxing in the National Rail Museum

A 'Hogwarts Castle' train! Clearly I was quite surprised to see this...

Our room in the Travellodge. We did have some issues - they moved us to a different hotel and it wasn't ideal as I still haven't been 100% with walking, so they paid four our taxi and gave us complimentary breakfasts for the next day, with the catch that we had to walk back to the original hotel to receive them... We resolved the issue a few days later over email.

We went the Chocolate Story where we learnt about the history of Rowntrees and other big brands! Our favourite bit (obviously)  was where we got to make our own chocolate bars to take back with us. Andy had strawberry and chocolate swirls with smarties, and I went for just the swirls. It was so nice!
We also received chocolate tasters as we went around the tour, such as dark chocolate from when chocolate was first produced here, original chocolate which was like a really bitter but watery chocolate milk, quality street chocolate and a slab of dark chocolate.

Cheeky anniversary picture! You can't tell as much from this picture, but Andy is 6ft 4" and I am 5ft 4" so there is a bit of height difference! This was before dinner.

Strawberry Daiquri in Jamie's Italian. Andy had never been before and said he had the most amazing steak and chips with coleslaw (so check it out) and I had my usual bolognaise. We are also Gold Club members so we received a little taster too!

Clifford's Tower which remains from the original York Castle.

Yes I got excited by the huge teddy bear and the Panda teddies inside! This was closed by the time we got there though (sob!) but they have a really cute tea room upstairs!

York Minster (a Cathedral)

Wasn't that hungry for lunch but had a sweet tooth...

Views from the YorkBoat tour.

We also visited:
York Dungeons
York Sightseeing Bus
Jorvik (Viking Centre)

We also did a little bit of shopping and Andy bought me the cutest little plaque for our new flat from Paperchase (here) as a little anniversary present.

Aside from the hotel annoyance, the trip was amazing and I'm so glad we got to escape from revision and uni work for 2 days and spend some more time together!

We are looking at going on another trip soon, so if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know!

IKEA Haul!

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in a while, I've come home to Liverpool for Easter and I've had a little operation so had a little break from blogging! But I'm back!

I went to IKEA the day after my op (in an IKEA wheelchair, so fashionable) and myself and my boyfriend decided we would pick up some bits before we move into our flat in September for our final year of uni. We didn't want to get too much but thought we'd have nose anyway.

We did get some items like a dustpan and brush, toilet brush holder, clips but thought it would be a tad boring to include all that, so here are the interesting bits!

Giant glass jars

We bought two each of these sizes. We plan to use the two larger sized ones for rice and pasta, and the two medium sized ones for tea and sugar. IKEA also sells smaller sized jars but they were really quite tiny and i'd probably only use them for bobbles or something really tiny so didn't bother with them. I love that you can seal the lids! I think they were around £2 each.

Tealight Lantern

These came in a dark blue, a bright yellow and white. I opted for the white as the other two colours were quite bold! This was £2 and it's adorable! We also have 100 plain tealights to go inside!

Glass Jar with Silver Screw Lid

I don't quite know what i'll put in this, but it was very inexpensive and i'll definitely use it. I think Andy has the intention to use it for chocolates and biscuits but I think the jar will be empty a lot of the time, but we'll see!

Pinky/Lilac Cushion

This reminded me a lot of the Primark heart cushions (which I am yet to buy) and was the same price at £4. I am a huge lover of individual items; I don't want to buy a set of cushions, I would love all different ones!

Pink Scallop Edged Plates/Bowl

I fell in love with these last year and decided not to buy them. I came back and put them in the trolley as soon as I saw them. They're a gorgeous pastel pink colour and look so vintage. Turns out my nan has the bowl in white so apparently we have the same taste! I think I'll get another 1 of this set when I next go back. For these three items they came to £8 which I think is pretty good.

I did want to get the candles with floral cups but didn't for some crazy reason, but I'm sure i'll have a long list for next time I go back!

We also got a cocktail glass and beer glass (what are they even called?) as well as some general items like tuppawear boxes and we have a lot more to get.

We also went to the café and had a cup of tea, meatballs chips and gravy, and some daim cake, and that was lovely!

Hope you all liked my little haul! Let me know if there is anything I should pick up next time I go!

Topshop: March Buys

Hey lovelies,

I saw that Topshop had a sale on the other week and immediately checked it out. I saw tons of jumpers and got so excited, but every time I wanted to buy something it had sold out in my size. There was only one item in the sale in my size that I wanted, so I thought I'd check out their new stock. I had a small budget plus a giftcard I still had from Christmas that I'd forgotten about. I saw the Giggle shoes and thought they were so cute and a bit different to the normal geek shoes that everyone has at the moment.

Topshop Dark Flower Tulle Dress £34 £18

Topshop Giggle Geek Shoes £28

The Giggle Geek Shoes are actually mint and not a powder blue but they are so lovely! I can't wait to wear them this summer. They're fairly pointed compared to what I thought they'd be which is a bit different to the style I'd usually buy but they are perfect for summer!

I've wanted the Tulle dress for so long and thought I'd wait until the sales came in. It's so pretty!

I hope you liked my picks!

I had a £15 giftcard, and 10% student discount off the shoes. I collected free from store so in total I only had to pay £26.40! This is so good considering the Giggle shoes are £28, I'm so thankful I found my giftcard!
