Packing For Paris: Beauty Essentials

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one! At the moment I'm in Paris with my boyfriend in (early) celebration of our 21st Birthdays! I knew I wanted to blog about my trip, so what better way than to start before I've even gone!

For me, packing makeup is a chore, I want to take all of my makeup, but it is bulky and everything coming in different shape/sized packaging doesn't make packing a doddle now, does it. I have to take basics, with a bit of extra room for those products that are a bit more special to me,

Of course I am taking foundation: my latest fave is Rimmel's Match Perfection Foundation which gives me full coverage with a mostly matte finish. I'm weird, and love to wear CC cream at the same time, they are just a perfect little match. I'm taking Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream to make my dark circles from travelling magically disappear.

Onto powders. I need to powder, multiple times a day. For me, I like using Maybelline's 24hr stay powder! Never had an issue with it an I have repurchased! Same goes for my Benefit The Porefessional which is the primer of my choice for this trip. Both products add a little colour and set my makeup.

I'm taking false lashes away with me, as sometimes on travelling pictures I prefer my lashes to always look full and curled. Aside this, Rimmel's Scandaleyes Mascara in Black is coming on it's holidays with me! The curved brush lengthens my lashes and adds volume.

I'm taking an old favourite with me too. I have Benefit's Hoola Bronzer and Dandelion Blusher as they work a dream together when contouring and adding a pop of colour to my cheeks. I certainly don't want to look washed out on my travelling photos.

To add a healthy glow, I've packed Mac's Crew Highlighter, which gives a pinky sparkled flush to my cheeks, which also works lovely under your brows too. It really makes me look like I've had the perfect night's sleep.

As for lipstick, I'll be taking tons! My favourite is my YSL Rouge Volupte in 17 which is a berryish colour, a perfect transitional colour!

For my eyes, I've packed a few Makeup Revolution palettes along with my Benefit "They're Real" Push Up Liner as I couldn't just choose one look to go with! I'm also priming my eyes with the Stay Don't Stray eye primer from Benefit.

Do you have any beauty products that are essential to you for your travels?

Exploring London!

Hey lovelies,

So I know I went to London in June, but with so many things going on, I've barely had any time to write p my travel posts. My boyfriend and I went on a 3 day trip to London to have a little shop and explore just after we had finished our 2nd year exams.

Little OOTD:

Navy cardi: Marks and Spencer's
Cami top - Topshop
Skort - New Look
Tights - Primark
Jelly shoes - Primark
Navy bag - Primark
Watch - Fossil

I did regret the tights as it was pretty hot!

Andy and I in the park near Buckingham Palace (what is it called?). My sunglasses are from New Look, dress from Primark. Andy's top is from Jack Wills and his sunglasses are from ASOS, just in case anyone wondered!

I missed the changing of the guards but saw them walk/strut? near Hyde Park which was nice!

The Food Hall at Harrod's was amazing. We bought a Cronut from the cupcake stall for nearly £4 as I wanted to try one (no longer a cronut virgin) and it was pretty damn good! As much as I would have loved to purchase all the food and all of the designer handbags, my purse nor my stomach would have liked that!

Yes I am a child but the Harrod's bears are sooooo cute!

Having never been to Piccadilly Circus before, just after this picture it was incredibly crowded and we didn't have places to visit in particular, not very planned, so we didn't stop for long.

I apologise to all those cringing from the photos being both portrait and landscape but I didn't originally plan to use these in a post! It was boiling in Trafalgar Square so we sat near the fountains for an hour with an lolly ice (I am highly aware it seems that only scousers say it this way round).

We had a lovely time in London and I am so excited to spend the day there in September before we nip off to Paris for 5 days! Paris is somewhere I've also never been to and will make a huge list for the Pharmacies there!

We had a light lunch (as light as physically possible) in the Hard Rock Cafe which was so good. It was so funny to see some teenagers bring sandwiches who sat outside and you could see them checking in on Facebook to say they had been haha!

If you have any places to recommend a visit to in either London or Paris then please let me know in the comments!

Love,

York: Anniversary Trip Away!

Hey lovelies, it's been a while! Apologies for late posting but I went away with my boyfriend for our 1 year Anniversary in York!

Just want to put it out there that he is absolutely amazing (be jel) and I was so lucky to be able to go on this trip with him. We did so many things but I never took pictures of everything as I wanted to spend some quality time with him.

Anyway, here are some snaps of things we did:

Andy relaxing in the National Rail Museum

A 'Hogwarts Castle' train! Clearly I was quite surprised to see this...

Our room in the Travellodge. We did have some issues - they moved us to a different hotel and it wasn't ideal as I still haven't been 100% with walking, so they paid four our taxi and gave us complimentary breakfasts for the next day, with the catch that we had to walk back to the original hotel to receive them... We resolved the issue a few days later over email.

We went the Chocolate Story where we learnt about the history of Rowntrees and other big brands! Our favourite bit (obviously)  was where we got to make our own chocolate bars to take back with us. Andy had strawberry and chocolate swirls with smarties, and I went for just the swirls. It was so nice!
We also received chocolate tasters as we went around the tour, such as dark chocolate from when chocolate was first produced here, original chocolate which was like a really bitter but watery chocolate milk, quality street chocolate and a slab of dark chocolate.

Cheeky anniversary picture! You can't tell as much from this picture, but Andy is 6ft 4" and I am 5ft 4" so there is a bit of height difference! This was before dinner.

Strawberry Daiquri in Jamie's Italian. Andy had never been before and said he had the most amazing steak and chips with coleslaw (so check it out) and I had my usual bolognaise. We are also Gold Club members so we received a little taster too!

Clifford's Tower which remains from the original York Castle.

Yes I got excited by the huge teddy bear and the Panda teddies inside! This was closed by the time we got there though (sob!) but they have a really cute tea room upstairs!

York Minster (a Cathedral)

Wasn't that hungry for lunch but had a sweet tooth...

Views from the YorkBoat tour.

We also visited:
York Dungeons
York Sightseeing Bus
Jorvik (Viking Centre)

We also did a little bit of shopping and Andy bought me the cutest little plaque for our new flat from Paperchase (here) as a little anniversary present.

Aside from the hotel annoyance, the trip was amazing and I'm so glad we got to escape from revision and uni work for 2 days and spend some more time together!

We are looking at going on another trip soon, so if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know!
