Hey Lovelies,

Today I thought I'd do things a bit different as I haven't reviewed moisturising type products before, but I was sent these last month and was surprised that I liked them! I've always been one of those girls who "sticks to what she knows" when it comes to moisturisers, but I have learnt to widen my horizons and have a go at using something else! I was kindly sent these Avène* creams to soothe dehydrated skin.

Avène Eau Thermale Avène Hydrance Optimale Rich £13.50 is a moisturiser designed to hydrate (if you didn't get that from the name) dry to very dry skin. On my face, I don't have really dry skin, it is quite a combination, so I imagine it works better on less oily skin. I did feel like it hydrated my skin, but I feel as my skin is a bit oily too it felt like it left an oily type feel to my skin afterwards. I've used this on my hands however and found it was a great cream for your hands! This isn't a fault of the cream, it just isn't best suited to the skin type on my face.

Avène XeraCalm Cream £16.50 claims to reduce symptoms of redness and itchiness and to also help your skin to prevent future irritations etc. I found this really moisturising on my legs and could tell I had used it for days afterwards and really cleared up any dry patches I had. I don't have eczema but my legs can get really really dry, and my legs felt lovely and soft after using it!

As you can see, I have a mixed review, but feel like the XeraCalm Cream is lovely on dry skin, leaving my skin looking healthier and more nourished. I'd recommend this to people with dry skin or just want a bit more nourishing!

Love,
