My teeth have been something I've been self-conscious about since I was younger, and I feel like I've been constantly on the hunt for products that will improve the look of them. Although straightening my teeth is off the table for now, given that Invisalign and other braces are way out of my budget, products that can change the appearance of my teeth are a must-have. Blanx have sent me some products to review to see if I can improve my confidence and have a brighter smile. Their products start at £4.99 and are available from Boots, Superdrug and other stores so they're readily available to most people which pleases me, since I don't like recommending products that are hard to find.

Firstly I tried the Extrawhite Intensive Whitening Treatment (£12) which is designed to be used twice a day, for 2 weeks at a time for a few times per year. It aims to remove stains fast to restore your teeth to their natural whiteness, with 'special action triple formula' which has an increased concentration to act quickly, safely and effectively. It's safe to use without being aggressive on the enamel, it's suitable for people with teeth stains and contains particles to remove stains during brushing which helps polish, whiten and clean the teeth. I have definitely seen a difference in my teeth since using this and have finished my first course of 2-week treatment, so I can't comment on the long-term effects, but so far so good! As a regular tea drinker it's great that I can use this without having to stop drinking tea.

The second product I tried was the White Shock Protect Toothpaste with LED Accelerator (£8) which is a whitening toothpaste with separate LED lid that screws onto it for dual-action. The toothpaste itself is a blue formula with ActiluX which effectively removes bacteria that causes cavities and plaque with an immediate whitening effect. ActiluX is a 'double patented innovation' that remains active on the teeth throughout the day to prevent damage and encourage whitening. The separate LED Accelerator screws onto the toothpaste and shines directly onto the toothpaste as you squeeze it out to 'multiply the whitening action of the active ingredient which is ActiluX' and I do feel like it's been helping my teeth get whiter. You can use this daily, but I tend to use it at night as the blue formula does tend to stain my lips which isn't ideal.

The Classic Whitening Toothpaste (£7.50) was the first whitening toothpaste released by Blanx to be based on ingredients derived from natural Artic Lichen. It's non-abrasive and allows you to gently deep clean without damaging the enamel on your teeth whilst killing bacteria and plaque to protect your teeth. This toothpaste aims to restore the natural whiteness of the teeth through the lichen extract contained in the formula which has a bacterostatic, anti-stain and anti-plaque effect to act as a softener and an anti-inflammatory for 'gum mucous'. The granular nature of silicon in the toothpaste helps to thoroughly clean the teeth, and the fluoride salts reinforce the tooth enamel to help the teeth remain strong and shiny. Overall this is a good whitening toothpaste and is great for everyday usage.

The Intensive Stain Removal Toothpaste (£6.50)  aims to remove pigmentation and stains due to food, beverages, plaque deposits and smoking to restore teeth to their natural whiteness. It also claims to remove stubborn red wine, tobacco and coffee stains which is great news for people with those problems. My teeth get stained due to eating foods like curry and regularly drinking tea, so whilst I don't smoke or drink red wine or coffee, my teeth are still prone to staining. It's another non-abrasive formula that effectively protects the teeth and cleans them which is great news, and I felt like using this in the evening after finishing my meal was the best way to utilise the stain removal element of this toothpaste.

Whilst using all of the toothpastes over the past month my teeth are looking whiter but in a natural way. I used the Blanx Toothbrush provided and also switched it up with an electric toothbrush to make sure my annoying wisdom teeth were cleaned as regular toothbrushes don't tend to reach as far back. I've never liked the 100% white look on the teeth as I'm not a celeb with perfectly straight teeth, so as a regular woman I'm glad that my teeth look naturally white. I'm quite pleased with the results so far, so if you want to check out the rest of the Blanx range you kind find them in Superdrug, Boots and other highstreet stores.
