Autumn Makeup With Boots

Autumn is well and truly here, and Boots have sent a lovely little package to switch up my makeup and to try out some new beauty products. All of these products are available to buy now in Boots and there are a ton of offers on right now so you can probably pick them up whilst saving yourself some pounds! The products featured here are from Sleek, Maybelline, Rimmel and Soap and Glory.

Firstly, I have to talk about the Soap and Glory Archery. Before I discovered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, this was my must have when it came to doing my brows. It's very similar to the Brow Wiz but is half the price at £8 compared to £15.50. Obviously the colours are a bit different but in the Archery I normally use Blondeshell which is similar to ABH Taupe. You can barely tell the difference between the products in both packaging, product and formula and they're both so good for creating false brow hairs to define and thicken the look of your brows, especially if you're naturally blonde like myself. This Archery is in Hot Chocolate which is a bit dark for me but will definitely come in handy if I end up dying my hair darker in the future.

The second product I want to talk about is the Sleek Goodnight Sweetheart palette. I am a huge lover of Sleek purely because their highlight palettes are the bomb.com. Seriously pigmented and affordable. So when this palette arrived I was eager to try it out. As a part of the Goodnight Sweetheart collection, Sleek have launched this palette to embrace the new season by using warm, rich shades including dusky roses, deep plums and iridescent shimmers that are suitable to all skin tones. It has twelve different eyeshadows, full sized mirror and a double ended brush, all for £8.99.

The Rimmel London Sculpting Palette by Kate in #002 (£8.99) is a compact highlight, contour and blush palette that can be used lightly for a fresh look or boldly for a dramatic sculpted effect. The soft shimmer highlighter is used to highlight areas that naturally catch the light so the brow bones, nose, cupids bow and forehead. The darker shading powder is used to contour and define the face where you don't want to emphasis, such as the sides of the face, nose, hairline and the tops of your cheekbones. The blush adds colour to your cheeks and adds a bit of warmth to the face overall. It's so handy having it all in one palette and I think it's one of those products that Rimmel has really needed to bring out this year.

The final two products in the box where from Maybelline. The first is the Color Sensational Blushed Nudes Lipstick in Pink Fling. The lipstick has molten rose gold pigments and precious oils in the formula for a fresh look that smoulders. There are four shades available, all with a creamy texture as they're enriched with honey nectar that also nourishes the lips. This is £6.99 but is currently on offer on Boots.com. The Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in Berry Boost (£6.99) aims to be bold and bright. In a complete contrast to the Blushed Nudes Lipstick, subtly isn't an option, with vivid matte pigments for high-impact colour and a soft matte finish. This is possibly the most creamy liquid lipstick I've ever used as I've completely fallen for it and have in fact bought two more vivid mattes because they're that good. Nude thrill is another good shade for those looking for a more natural shade. This is also on the same offer that the Blushed Nudes is on. Happy shopping!

Seventeen Summer Steals

Ever find yourself wandering around Boots wondering what to pick up? Whether it be new to the shelves or a best seller, beauty bloggers always want more makeup in their collection. Today I'll be talking about a few products from Seventeen, a brand who I hadn't previously delved into much.

The product that I instantly focused my attention on was the Seventeen Skin Wow! Concealer (£4.99)*. With the packaging that appears very much like the YSL Touche Eclat that I own in the Rose Gold edition, I was intrigued to see whether it would meet my expectations. The colour 'Fair' was a perfect match to me as I already use their Phwoarr Paint for blemishes in the lightest shade. The built in brush applicator saves you time when you're in a rush and to bring out the product you simply click the button to release the concealer. 

Aimed a reducing dark circles and brightening underneath your eyes, it does the trick. Seventeen advise blending with your fingers but since I apply this on top of foundation, I use my beauty blender. To set the concealer I apply a pressed powder and I'm ready to go. The only flaw I can find with this product is that it only comes in Fair and Medium; not offering a great shade range. If they came out with an even lighter product, potentially a liquid highlighter, bloggers would be all over it.

The next product is the Seventeen Define and Contour Kit (£5.99)* which also comes in Fair and Medium. I had seen this mini contour kit on the shelves in Boots but had resisted picking it up previously. It consists of a light matte powder and a light brown contour powder which are beautiful shades for a pale blonde like myself. Seventeen advise that you contour as usual, which for me is simply the hollows of my cheeks, around my temples and lightly at the top of my forehead. To use the highlighter, simply place on the areas where the light naturally hits your face like the nose, cheekbones and cupids bow. The bronzer in this palette is incredibly blendable, works well with my skin tone and adds a natural sunkissed look. The powder for me could me lighter when using at as a higlighter, but is perfect for setting your under eye concealer.

Finally, the Seventeen Gel Colour Polish (£3.99)* in Emerald Tropics and Blue Lagoon claim to offer up to 8 days worth of wear that is chip resistant with long lasting colour and shine. I first need to start of by saying my nails chip after one day using any polish, whether it be £1 or £20. I used Emerald Tropics recently when doing some nail art and set it with a Shellac clear coat and it lasted for well over a week that way. I have brittle nails and polish that isn't cured simply will never last unfortunately. The colours are true to the photos on Boots.com and product and produce shine that is hard to beat. There are 29 colours on the website and they're definitely worth a look at, particularly Firefly!

Quilted Boots for Colder Months

I never used to like knee high boots. This goes without saying, I never really used to like boots at all. Until I started writing the fashion element of this blog, I was stuck in my ways and didn't see the appeal of wearing boots. I then started wearing leggings and tights more, and skinny jeans and began to love them. These Ava Quilted Boots* are long enough, but are still below the knee. They have one buckle and a chain, making them stand out to a normal pair of knee length boots. The quilted effect is what makes me enjoy them the most, since they look expensive and stylish. They are affordable and comfortable, which is what every girl needs in a pair of shoes. You can wear these with almost anything in your wardrobe. Here, I'm wearing them with tights and a black dress for a simple comfortable outfit. They would look lovely with some jeans and a simple white tee too. I have these in a size 5, and fit quite snugly around the foot and leg.  At £24.49, they're available in a range of sizes, and also come in brown too.
