AD/PR Sample | Maybelline Color Strike Eyeshadow Pen

Maybelline New York is the number one global cosmetics brand that has products available in almost 130 countries across the world. They have been creating makeup products for many, many years, and were the company that introduced the first daily-use modern mascara back in 1917. I've used Maybelline's Total Temptation Mascara for years now and I swear by it, so I know that they already produce good quality eye products.

They have recently launched a new eyeshadow with a bit of a difference. There's no palette or brush in sight, as this one comes in a pen with a precise cushion tip. It's smaller than my mascara so could easily be thrown into a small bag to take out. I can see this coming in really handy, as being able to have a product to top up my eyeshadow if I was out on a particularly long day would be great, particularly given that I have oily eyelids so I'm more prone to needing to touch them up, regardless of which eye product I'm using.

The eyeshadow is a cream-to-powder pen that can give you up to 12 hours of wear with only one easy strike without having any fallout due to the way the cushion tip glides across your eyelid to apply. It's also smudge, crease, and fade resistant to give you a long-wearing eyeshadow that has a 'bold color impact'. Several matte and metallic shades are available including Tempt, Spark, Chase, Hustle, Ace, Crave, Charm among others, to give plenty of choices to suit your style. I received the Spark and Rally shades Spark is my favourite of the two as it's more of an everyday shade for me. You could wear them alone or with other eyeshadows depending on the look, and the lighter shades could double as an inner eye and below the brow highlighter too.

Lord & Berry Seta Eyeshadows Review

Since becoming a beauty blogger I have not only continued my lipstick collection but have developed a massive love for eyeshadows. It doesn't matter what brand, what formula or what finish, I love them. When Lord & Berry released their Seta and Seta Premiere individual eyeshadows* I fell in love. At £12 each I was interested to see whether they'd be worth the price and if they could replace my love for Mac individual shadows.

The individual Seta eyeshadows promise to have a silk effect as they're soft in formulation. With 74 shades available you can make up around three Z-Palettes with them if you depotted them, or you could fill 3-4 Muji storage drawers with them, which shows how many different colour combinations you can explore. The shadows are said to be long lasting due to micronized raw minerals in the ingredients and they aren't tested on animals. I have the shades Amber (bronze) , Mocha (medium brown) and Matrix (a dark brown/black) which can all be worn together if you wish. I have to say they are quite easy to blend and did last long when I used my trust Benefit Stay Don't Stray underneath.

The other type of eyeshadow is the Seta Premiere which I have in Scene which is like a white-blue with shimmer to it. Although the Premiere version isn't more expensive they do come in matte (talc-free), frost and iridescent finishes. They're paraben free and have a really good colour payoff, especially when you're applying a white shadow. Normally with white shadows you expect to have to really layer them up to build up the pigment but Scene is quite good with just one application (using my index finger, not a brush). The 'mineral dust' inside the product prevents the shadow feel too claggy and thick.

Overall using all four shades together makes a beautiful Autumn inspired look which I absolutely love. My favourite shade just has to be Amber especially on the lid and using Mocha in the crease, Matrix in the outer v and Scene as a base and in the inner corner. Amber is a good colour to use on the waterline too and under the lower lashes to make blue eyes like mine 'pop'. If you're looking to buy the Lord & Berry Seta Eyeshadows you can buy them from Boots, Asos and other online stores.

Eyeshadows, Eye Dusts and Primers | Makeup Revolution Reviews

Hey Lovelies,

I was surprised the other week to see a cute little parcel from Makeup Revolution including eyeshadows, dusts and their new Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer*. I was over the moon to receive these, as it feels like it's been far too long since I reviewed eye products.

These gorgeous, shimmery eyeshadows come in the shades "I Want U" and "Make It Happen" which I think were quite cheeky names! It reminded me of the types of names that Nars use for their blushers. A creative name makes me remember the product more, as it stands out. It also makes for funny conversation "I love the new product I picked up, it's called Orgasm...". Saying "I Want U" and "Make It Happen" in a sentence could lead to anything, just saying.

Both shades have on the right, used with the Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer, and the left without. You should be able to see that with the primer, it creates more of a foil look, but will also stay on your eyes for longer. I love a good matte shade, don't get me wrong, but there is something about my taste that screams bring me the glitter. Anything with shimmer or glitter in, seems to really stand out to me, and these don't half make your eyes pop. For £1, there is surely not much you can moan about, aside possible lasting power, but that's were the eye primer comes into play.

These eye dusts are in the shades "Agonise" and "Confront", a little different to the names of the eyeshadows, but in very similar colours. At £1 each too, I was very hopeful to see great results for the small price you pay. You have to apply these gently, and press the dust onto your eye once you've applied primer, as it has a tendency to go on your cheeks if you add too much to your brush.

As with the eyeshadows, the right is applied with primer on top. You can tell that the colour is darker with the primer, and has that great foil look to it. As these are swatched on my hands (I was having a bad face day) it seems to enhance the creases on my skin, but this wouldn't happen on your eyelids unless you had (not intended to offend) saggier skin there. I constantly write on my blog posts that I am honest in reviewing every product I try out, and for the price you pay for Makeup Revolution, I'm genuinely surprised with the quality. I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to eyeshadows, but I seem to fall more and more in love with MR's products. Bought or sent, I'm building up quite a collection and I'm loving it.

This is the Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer (£3) that comes in a tiny little bottle so cute! It claims "Ultra high performance" and regarding the small cost for the primer, it is pretty good. You get for what you pay for; I don't think I will find a primer I feel works for me 100%  as I'm incredibly fussy, and constantly swap between wanting a dash of colour to even out my skintone, like Benefit's Stay Don't Stray, and wanting a clear primer. If you're a lover of clear primers, this works just lovely! I've not tried it as a waterproof primer yet, as I've not been out in the rain, nor want to conquer my stupid fear of dipping my face in a bath/sink full of water.

When it comes to waterproof products, nothing, in my opinion, will be 100% waterproof or it would be impossible to remove. Without testing this, my favourite thing about this is definitely the foil effect, if you've not been able to tell already... I love how it can change the effect of your makeup with a drop of primer, how?!

If you've not tried Makeup Revolution, you should. I was sent these samples and was not paid to review these products positively. I really do enjoy makeup and this brand is definitely one of my favourite brands at the minute!

Makeup Revolution Romantic Smoked Palette Review

Hey Lovelies,

So recently I was asking other bloggers on Twitter what Makeup Revolution products I should try, and after so many suggestions I couldn't decide! Makeup Revolution kindly offered to send me the Romantic Smoked Palette* to try out first before buying more! I chose this palette as it had quite a few different colours, with 6 shimmery shades and 6 matte. I am a huge fan of shimmery eye shadows so this is something I was looking forward to trying out.

The palette is the perfect size to take away with you and I adore how the shadows are in long thing sections instead of small square ones so you can really get your brush in there. The design is simple and shows off the eyeshadows; they don't need dressing up! For a compact palette it makes my life a lot easier than carrying around multiple single eyeshadows, or three different palettes as I change my mind every day about how I want my makeup to look.

Above: Shimmery/Pearly Shades

Above: Matte Shades

You can mix the matte and shimmery shades together and can make so many combinations of looks with this palette. It is a great palette for smoky eye look, or a light and natural look. The shade I would least wear is probably the green shimmery shade as I personally don't tend to wear green a lot. The lilacs in the matte section look absolutely gorgeous and you can tell from my swatches that they are quite pigmented too. The shadow doesn't fall out everywhere too, and added bonus for quick application!

I love the lightest pearly eyeshadow and it will make a perfect highlighter too, which I will take full advantage of. The thing that makes a palette for me is if it has a perfect which shade, and a rich black shade. The white opens up your eyes and you can use dark shades for eyeliner or for a 'going out' type of look. I wish the shadows had names on them, so I could point out exactly which shades I mean

To top it all off, for £4 a palette you cannot complain. Makeup Revolution sell tons of products from £1 lipsticks to blusher and concealer palettes. For me, this is a brand that I will be keeping an eye on, with products coming to Superdrug stores over the UK, as soon as they come to my local stores I will be buying their highlighters and lipsticks!

For me, I am very pleased with this palette. It's affordable, it lasts on your eyes and it has a wide range of colours to choose from to make countless looks with. My Romantic Smoked Palette has made its way to my permanent makeup stash, I'm pretty sure I will be posting many selfies on Instagram wearing these shadows!
