Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Nudes Collection With Swatches

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Nudes Collection With Swatches

I am well and truly guilty for being a liquid lipstick hoarder. As soon as the trend hit I wanted to try every brand and every shade available. The first major chance I had to stock up on some was in Los Angeles last year, and included in my haul was two mini Kat Von D Everlasting Lipsticks and the full sized version in Lolita. I loved the formula and for Christmas I received the Everlasting Miniature Set ($49) that was available from Sephora that included 8 mini Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Kat Von D have recently released their Nudes Collection in 6 nude shades, with one to suit everyone and they kindly set two shades for me to try, Crucifix and Hawkwind.

I'm a pale gal, so these two shades are definitely not 'nudes' to me, but I like the shades regardless. There are six shades in the Nudes Collection; Crucifix, Hawkwind, Ophelia, Ludwig, Muneca and Sanctuary. Crucifix is the darkest shade in the collection and is a deep brown, Hawkwind is more of a nutmeg shade, Ophelia is pink/brown nude, Ludwig is a mauve, Muneca is a light peachy-pink, and Sanctuary is a darker mauve. These are just 6 shades out of a total 43 available and I think Ludwig would be my perfect nude out of all of them as although I'm quite fair, my lips are a bit darker than you'd expect.

The formula has impressed me since I first tried Lolita, and they're creamy in nature and try fairly quickly to reveal a matte finish. When I've worn the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks they've never flaked off but some shades are more opaque than others, but Crucifix and Hawkwind are very much true to colour and try opaque. No matter where I go, I always bring the lip colour I'm wearing with me just in case but I can't recall every re-applying these. They claim 24-hour wear but to be honest I've not worn any lipstick longer than about 16 hours and they're not as perfect by the end of the day as they were when first applied.

I've compared the swatches of Crucifix and Hawkwind to two other Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shades in my collection; Lolita and Plath, to show what the shades look like. All of the shades dry really well without dehydrating the lips as they contain Vitamin E and Sunflower Seed Wax as natural moisturisers. I noticed that Plath doesn't dry as opaque like I mentioned before, but thought it was worth showing a few similar shades out to aid people looking for their perfect nude. For the best results. Kat Von D Beauty recommends shaking the products well before application for the best results.

F&F SS14 Picks

I thought I'd check F&F at Tesco to see what clothes they currently have in for SS14 and I was so happy with what I found. Some people turn their noses up at supermarket brand clothing but F&F can sometimes do some great pieces! Here are my picks...

Polka Dot Shirt £16
I love this! It also comes in white+black and black+white but I think the blue is so summery! Everyone needs a polka dot shirt and this is THE ONE I have fallen in love with for summer as it has such a vintage vibe to it yet also looking modern which is what every girl needs.

Starburst Cut Out Print Swimsuit £14
If someone told me I'd be wanting to buy swimwear from Tesco I'd probably have given them a strange look, before I saw this. It has an adjustable halterneck which means it can suit different sized girls; I'm always altering swimwear as I have a small frame with bigger boobs. The cut out sides are there to show off your figure, but also hiding your stomach which is exact what I like to see (major tummy hider here). The pattern is also lovely!

Limited Edition Off The Shoulder Skater Dress £20
This is such a staple piece for your SS14 wardrobe that you should invest in. You can pair this with pastel or tan coloured heels/flats and a cute clutch for spring/summer, but it's also a very transitional piece that you can take through to A/W. Having your shoulders on display is so flattering on girls as it gives off a more feminine look. I'd love wearing this, as I don't really like the top of my arms and would like to hide them but to also have a bit of skin on show at the same time.

Limited Edition Tropical Print Jumpsuit £35
This reminds me of something you'd find in River Island, but for a fraction of the price! The print is bold, perfect for SS14! The legs are tapered to flatter your shape and there's an elasticated waist, meaning it is perfect for a BBQ so you can fill your boots ;)
On a serious note, it looks so flattering! I am short, so I would pair this with some simple heels or flatforms and a clutch.

Limited Edition Ripped Boyfriend Jeans £18
I can't believe F&F are selling these, especially for that good of a price! I've seen these styled so much lately and they are THE JEANS for SS14 in my opinion. They look amazing styled with a black peplum top and black heels with a clutch, or with a white cami and some converse. You can dress it up or wear it casual, making it perfect for spring/summer.

Truffle Jelly Bow Wedges £22
Very Vivienne Westwood inspired! These nude wedges are also a staple piece for summer. They would look super cute with a skater dress, or even with a pair of rolled up jeans. They are also transitional for day and night which makes them all the more amazing. These, like the jumpsuit, are a fraction of the price you'd pay for a pair of these that look like the Vivienne Westwood ones. I'll be investing in these for sure!

I hope you all like my picks and hope you were just as shocked as I was looking at these amazing buys! I'll definitely be investing in some of these pieces and will keep an eye on F&F for future picks.
