Homedics Pampering Weekend

Everyone loves a good pamper, so when Homedics sent me some items to use, I knew I could use them on a weekend to make the most out of them. I love getting my nails done, so they sent me the Rokit Salon Gel Nails Kit (£69.99)* and the Foldaway Luxury Foot Spa (£49.99)* to try out.

The Rokit Gel Nails Kit includes a professional LED curing lamp with timer, 50ml Ready polish preparation, nail file, buffer, cuticle stick and 5ml Bordeaux Red gel nail polish. I love the shade of the polish as I wouldn't normally reach for this colour, but it's a beautiful red wine colour that lasted on my nails longer than other cured nail polish. My nails are, bluntly, pretty rubbish at holding onto colour so for this to last longer than the other curing kits I have is a small miracle in itself. The lamp is really easy to use and it's great that it's not boxy so you can slide your nails under the lamp, preventing you from smudging the polish before it's finished. You can remove the gel polish with normal nail varnish remover which is a plus too.

I'm currently so limited on space at the moment as I'm currently saving for my first house which is exhausting and means that I'm living in a more cramped area. Having a foot spa that can fold away is so useful for me. It pops out and folds away easily, but I did have to get some help for this as I'm not the strongest gal out there. It will fit just about everyone, as the foot spa fits up to a size 12 so even my boyfriend can try it out and means I have plenty of space too. When you switch it on it vibrates which work with the acu-nodes to stimulate acupressure points on the soles of your feet. I've enjoyed using it and will definitely bring it with me when I move into my house!

L'Oréal Paris Pure Clay Masks Review

I'm one of those people where if I see a face mask or three that claims to detox your face, I'll go ahead and buy the full range. That's what happened here. I saw the L'Oréal Paris Pure Clay range on Boots.com and bought them all immediately. They're £7.99 each and each mask has a different purpose, meaning you can wear all three masks on different areas of your face for a full faced pamper session. The masks are Detox (detoxifies and clarifies), Purity (purifies and mattifies) and Glow (brightens and exfoliates). The packaging contains 50ml of product which claims to have 10 applications but depending on where you use the mask, you should get more applications out of it. The Pure Clay range is made up of three powerful clays (Koalin, Montmorillonite and Ghassoul) to remove impurities and allow your skin to breathe.

The Detox mask was created to make your skin look it's purest and cleanest, as the black charcoal in this mask acts like a magnet to draw out impurities. It aims to go deep into the pores and detoxify the skin's surface by bringing out any dirt left on the skin and really cleanse the skin. I've been trying this out for the past few months and think I enjoy this mask the most, since it also dries out spots and prevents new pimples forming and after each application I feel more confident in my skin. When this runs out I'm definitely repurchasing it as it's everything you need in a face mask if you have troubled skin, all for under £10.

The Purity mask is enriched with Eucalyptus extract that's known for its purifying properties, and the creamy texture works deep into the pores to also draw out impurities, leaving your skin feeling revitalised and refreshed. Once you've washed it off, your skin feels so smoothe and because of the extract in this mask, it honestly feels like you've had a spa treatment as your pores feel unclogged. You end up with your face looking mattified but it doesn't dry the skin out, as with having combination skin it did concern me that it would dry it out and my face would product excess oil. My face was baby soft and I think I'll pick up another pot once this one runs out.

The Brightening mask is enriched with Red Algae that's naturally known for its brightening properties, with finely milled apricot seeds to gently exfoliate dull and uneven skin. The purpose of this mask is that once you've washed it off, your skin should reveal it's natural glow and I think it's best applied to your cheeks, as the other two masks work best on your t-zone. My skin did look a bit brighter but this is my least favourite out of the bunch which I expected, since I needed the other two masks to target my problem areas more. If you have clear skin, I think the Glow mask would be best suited to you, but with having combination skin with spots mostly around my chin area, the Detox and Purity masks work better for me here.
Overall I really enjoyed using these masks and will definitely pick them up again once I've ran out. They work a lot better than other face masks I've used, but I do wish in the future they would bring out larger pots to ensure you have plenty more applications. Since they aren't packaged in a tube, you can get out every last bit of the masks which is great since I hate wasting product due to poor packaging.

Relaxing with Prezzybox

I love a good pamper session, especially from the comfort of my own home. Prezzybox recently treated me to two at home relaxation sets so that I could de-stress and have a bit of me time. The package included the Detox Pamper Pack (£6.95)* and the Luxury Bath Melts Collection (£14.95)* and I've been trying them out over the past few weeks to see whether I could recommend them, and keep them in mind for future presents for people.

The Detox 4 Sachet Pamper Pack was created so you could pamper yourself from head to toe, with four masks to revitalise and prepare you for any event. It includes a Cucumber & Aloe Vera Face Mask, a pack of Wild Rose Revitalising Eye Pads, a Jojoba Creamy Revitalising Leave-In Hair Mask and an Aromotherapy Intensive Foot Cream. If you use them all at the same time you'll be left feeling refreshed and new, almost like a mini spa in your home. For someone who has thick, curly hair, problem skin and chronic health conditions, this is like heaven in a box -  it's just missing some chocolates and I'd be sorted!

The set of Luxury Bath Melts Collection works well as a treat for you or a present for someone else. It includes six bath melts that are decorated to look like yummy cupcakes inside a pink egg box. There are 3 bath souffles, and 3 soothing sundaes that are enriched with cocoa butter to leave your skin super soft and moisturised. Each bath melt has a different scent, including Lavender & Patchouli, Summer Evening, Hyacinth, Peony, Lemon & May Chang and Rose Geranium. As they dissolve in the bath they leave the water cloudy which is a nice change to a coloured bath bomb. I noticed that after using a bath melt, my skin was nourished and left with almost a moisturised layer which is great in the colder months when your skin craves hydration.

Prezzybox do a range of other pamper treats, including bubble bath machines, floating bath lights, and foot spa sets. There's nothing better after a day of shopping to come home to a warm bath and completely chill out, and there are plenty of things suitable over on their website for this.
