Letting My Fiancé Choose My Lingerie | John Lewis DD+

When Andy was tasked with picking out a lingerie set for me, he was glad to see that there was a handy guide from John Lewis to help him get it right. Sometimes it can be a little daunting if you had to buy an item like this for someone else if it isn't what you're used to as there are more things to think about. Although he is familiar with sizing, I think that the information in the guide would come in useful to anyone who is unsure, as getting this right is key to buying this type of clothing. One thing that he found particularly useful was the advice on choosing the right colour and relating this back to the general theme of my other clothes. I have quite a lot of lighter clothing, so when Andy went through the guide it helped him to then look for something of a similar shade so that it would match with what I'd wear.

The set that Andy picked out was by Fantasie who I've never bought lingerie from before. He chose out the Sienna Side Support Balcony Bra in Tea Rose with matching briefs. The bra features floral embroidery which is a pretty and delicate pattern. It has underwired cups and the side support allows for a flattering appearance by helping to project your chest. A soft and smooth finish to the briefs gives a romantic touch and provides comfort, particularly with the seamless back.

John Lewis has a good range of lingerie brands, including Bluebella, Freya, Fantasie and And/Or so there should be an option for whoever you are buying for. Some tips for picking out the right pieces is to have a look at what they already own and the type of lingerie this is. Don't be too adventurous with your choices and try not to go too far away from their current selection. Setting yourself a budget can help you narrow down the options to make it slightly less daunting. Andy had a bit of a different task as I currently wear a GG cup, but there are still plenty of options to choose from including matching sets. Buying lingerie is a great gift for occasions such as Valentine's Day and anniversaries and I would definitely recommend using the guide as it's something you want to get right the first time around.

ASOS Rita Bras | Fuller Bust Bralettes, Finally!

For the longest time, I've had to spend a ton on bras and they've never been that comfortable. In the past year or so, bralettes have become a 'thing' and lo and behold they've never catered to anyone with a cup size above a D. It's beyond frustrating, as us people with a bigger chest lost out once again to something that could have been so easily made in bigger sizes. I need comfort and I want something that looks pretty under a sheer top. I want it to stick out of my top and look like a frilly accessory. Anyway, the ASOS Fuller Bust Rita Bra has come into my life and boy it has changed. I picked up the shades Blush and Black and there is also 'Deep Red', and then five shades in the original Rita range that will hopefully make their way into Fuller Bust. They go up to a size HH which is fantastic as it's annoying when DD+ bras only go up to an F.

They have a stretch underband, non-padded triangle cups and have sheer lace on the front. ASOS describe it as 'the best thing to not wearing a bra at all' and I can agree. It's comfier than a sports bra and far more attractive. I am a tad nervous of wearing them underneath a sheer top/dress as you know the struggle well of being "too booby" and having everyone's eyes drawn to your chest before they even acknowledge your face. The Deep Red colour would make me feel so sassy around Valentine's Day so I think I need to make another purchase. These Rita bras have matching thongs and knickers and also come in plus size (Curve) too. All we need now is those extra shades in Fuller Bust please ASOS! ASOS stock other brands that do DD+ bralettes and some are so pretty! There are matching sets or ones that are really strappy and I'm definitely going to pick some more up.

Lingerie From Hunkemoller | DD+

Pretty lingerie is something that can change your mood. Putting on a good fitting bra with matching underwear can make you feel more confident and happy, and that's certainly what has happened with me. As someone who finds it really difficult to find a bra, having brands that make D+ bras make my life a lot easier. I do tend to go for more t-shirt bras as they suit my bust more and I very rarely have them showing. Hunkemoller has bras in this range from £18 to £40 to suit your requirements, whether it be wired or underwired, which strap type you want or the material they're made from.

I chose the Yvonne set as at the time the weather was a tad warmer and I always tend to pick floral items. The bra fits well which is great news straight off the bat since G cup bras are obviously at the bottom end of the scale as Hunkemoller stock up to H cup, and most places don't tend to go belong n F in DD+ ranges. This bra is the standard fit for a t-shirt bra but feels better than cheaper alternatives I've tried before, on both the straps and inside the cup.

I do love a good lingerie set, even if it's only really myself that will see me in it, I know that I'm matchy-matchy underneath my clothes. I'm often too lazy to bother wearing a matching set or matching sets are far too expensive when you're buying a DD+ bra. The bra alone when buying online is usually £30 and then because you're buying from a DD+ range not extended sizes from regular bras, you pay £15+ for the matching knickers/thong. If you're going to separate bra sizes instead of extending them, at least make them affordable. Hats off to Hunkemoller for providing affordable bras.
