Garnier SkinActive Soothing Botanical Rose Water Skincare Range

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Garnier products. Combine this love with my love for everything floral; the scent, the colours and image. Garnier has just brought out their Soothing Botanical with Rose Water range and I was over the moon to receive these three items in the mail. The range is enriched with rose water which is known for its soothing virtues, restoring softness and suppleness, and hydrating the skin.

Garnier Soothing Botanical Toner (£3.49) is the first toner made from 96% ingredients of natural origin. All of the products are too, with no parabens, silicones or synthetic colours. but I think from looking at this product in the bottle you can see this for yourself. Once your makeup is removed, you use this all over the face which sometimes picks up makeup you thought you'd fully removed. It doesn't tighten the skin which has been an issue with me when using toners but this is lovely.

Garnier Soothing Botanical Cleansing Milk (£3.49) gently removes impurities and makeup from the skin. It's not as easy to remove makeup as it is with micellar water but I tend to use the regular Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, then this, then the toner above which I guess is a triple cleanse but it just makes sure everything is off. It's really gentle on the eyes which makes it nicer to remove mascara and eyeliner than using a micellar water.

Garnier Rose Water Botanical Day Cream (£5.99) is specially formulated to soothe the skin and is supposed to be used after you've used the above products, morning and evening. I don't use it all the time as recommended as I have combination skin but when I do use it, it nourishes my skin without leaving a greasy residue. It's a great size too, making it perfect to take on holiday or to throw in your bag. Garnier also sent me a pinky-nude Maybelline lipstick to make the package more rose-y!

Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Blonde Toner Review

Hey Guys,

So a while a go I reviewed the Jerome Russell Bblonde Lightening Spray* and was also sent the toner in Platinum Blonde to review too! I chose this instead of using a bleach on my hair as last year I was dark brown and went back to blonde and after 4 bleaches and stripping my hair, I knew it needed a break. I haven't dyed my hair since July 2013 and was hoping that my roots could blend in a bit more with the remaining bright blonde hair I have at the ends.

Above: This was my hair after using the lightening spray; it added a subtle lift to my hair without changing it too much. I still wanted my roots to be lighter though, but that's difficult to do without dying your hair.

Cheeky selfie aside, this is my hair post-toner. It's not the perfect shot but you can tell that my roots are significantly lighter and the colours blend together more. It helps that my hair has grown so the style is more of a long dip-dye. I'm so happy with the toner, it's made my roots from an ash blonde to a more honey blonde.

I requested to use the Platinum Blonde* instead of a darker blonde, knowing that I wouldn't get platinum blonde hair as a result, but it would lighten and tone my hair to make it look a lot more natural. Neither product has damaged my hair; it feels healthier and soft from not dying it and using these alternative products.

If you're looking to go blonde, or lighten your hair, I'd personally recommend using the Bblonde range. I've tried other blonding products and I bought Bblonde products before reviewing these, nothing seems to last well in my hair aside these!

Jerome Russell Bblonde Hair Lightening Spray Review

I was recently contacted to review the Lightening Spray by Jerome Russell Bblonde*. If any of you have seen my hair post you can see that after years of dying my hair, I was going to let the bleach blonde colour grow out and see my natural colour again! Well when I was sent this, I thought it would be an amazing idea to use it on my natural hair, to blend in the growth a bit and make my hair a bit lighter for summer.

It comes in a spray bottle and is super easy to apply. You spray it on towel dried hair then blow dry your hair to lock the product in. The smell isn't amazing, but it's a lot better than amonia in blonde hair dyes that's for sure.

I decided for this to be an accurate test I wouldn't spray the bottom layer of my hair so I could really show you guys the difference. The picture above is of my roots without any lightening spray, and you can see the colour of the rest of the blonde parts of my hair.

You can really tell on these two pictures, that after 2 applications it has really lifted my hair, in a subtle way. I was also pleased that you don't get left with patches of colour too, as that wouldn't be a good look! You can see where my hair is naturally lighter, in two weird streaks at the front, but I feel that after I've used the spray more my hair will definitely be more of a subtle dip-dye look.

The reason I started growing my hair out was to give it a rest in all honesty! Last year I had close to black hair, and then in July last summer I decided to bleach it (4 times) and this was the colour I was left with on the ends. I have constant split ends from doing this (bad Laura!) and have to get it cut a lot, but I think with using the Lightening Spray I can make my hair a bit lighter for summer without damaging it too much.

I also noticed that as the product says it gradually lifts with 3+ applications, I was very pleased to see a difference after two, being a subtle difference, but some change! This is a permanent lightener, so for those who only would like to use this for the summer, I wouldn't constantly use this.

The final bonus of this product is it has a thermal protector in it, like a heat defence, so using hair dryers and stylers won't cause as much damage to your hair, perfect! The only thing I would say is that it works best on naturally blonde-light brown hair so if you have hair darker than that I wouldn't recommend you using the spray, I'd look on the Bblonde website and pick something to help lift your colour if you're looking to go blonde.
